More than a mere "local", Doug has lived in Madras for more than 30 years, raising three sons here with his wife Patty. As a long-time resident, he's been involved in everything from Kiwanis to the Boy Scouts to the Jefferson County Film Committee. And while he clearly enjoys living in Madras, Doug is passionate about traveling to other places, with Europe being a favorite destination.

Closer to home, Doug enjoys hiking, camping and listening to music. A talented woodworker, he builds everything from children's toys to furniture, which he donates through his church. Doug also finds great satisfaction in lending his carpentry skills to Habitat for Humanity, as he considers it a tangible way of putting his faith into action.
